If you’re looking to explore further, you can visit one of the many Colombia coffee farms outside of Medellin that offer tours and insights into the coffee production process. Keep in mind that the coffee axis or coffee triangle is quite a drive from Medellin. You may also opt to fly into Pereira and tour the farms located in the coffee axis from there.

Organic amazing farm located in the jungle area in the coffee axis – near Marsella .  Okay, technically it’s known for its amazing chocolate and cacao beans but owner Luis Fernando and his lovely wife grow all sorts of fruits and vegetables, including COFFEE!!  The setting is ideal, the food is amazing and the tour was one of our favorites in all of Colombia!

🌱 La Casa Grande Coffee Hacienda

This coffee farm is located in Santa Elena, about 30 minutes from Medellin. It offers tours of the coffee plantation and processing facility, as well as coffee tastings.

 On our tour, we found out that Colombia actually exports most of their coffee production. Therefore, the coffee you drink at a restaurant in Colombia, may not actually be from Colombia.  They need to import cheaper coffee to keep up with the demand.
