Hotel Ploes is a highly-rated beachfront hotel in Ermoupoli, Syros. It’s a 19th-century Neoclassical mansion that’s now converted into luxurious accommodation. It is known as one of the best neoclassical heritage sites on Syros
In 2008, the mansion was renovated into a five-star boutique hotel with 8 rooms.
Its beautiful rooms and suites are complete with genuine Venetian chandeliers, handmade rugs, painted high ceilings, and handpainted walls by contemporary Greek artists. Rooms also have marble bathrooms which add to the overall feel of luxury. Some suites even have private spa baths and hammams.
Aside from its classically elegant rooms, the privileged location of Hotel Ploes made it one of our chosen best hotels in Syros.
It’s conveniently only a short walk from the central Miaouli Square and Syros Town Hall. Its great location also allows each room to have unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea.

Castro Hotel Syros is a five-star hotel in Ermoupoli, Syros. The building was built in 1857 with Neoclassic architecture. Its high ceiling is even handpainted by great Italian artists of that time. Now, it is made more sophisticated with contemporary elements!
Whether you are a solo traveler or you’re on vacation with a partner or group, you can enjoy the facilities in Castro Hotel Syros. You’ll have access to a hot tub and can always relish in their à la carte breakfast. Their Greek cuisines are prepared with fresh local ingredients every time.
All their rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, desks, and safety deposit boxes. Rooms are beautifully renovated and appointed with natural light and fresh decor.
And if you want to relax in an open-air setting, head to their Aithrio Lounge. It’s an outdoor patio that’s made more vibrant with colorful furniture and various kinds of plants.

Pino Di Loto Boutique Bed and Breakfast is a four-star hotel located by the famous Kini beach.
Each of its six aesthetically decorated suites offers a mesmerizing view of the Aegean Sea. This will be more enjoyable over breakfast which you can request to have in your bedroom.
They also have a breakfast area if you’re feeling more sociable and don’t want to get stuck in your room for longer than necessary. And if you’re not much of a morning person, you can still get your breakfast as late as 12 noon.
There is also an outdoor pool which any occupants from the four one-room suites can use. As for the two executive suites (which have master bedrooms and separate living rooms), they each have an outdoor private mini-pool in front.
Pino Di Loto Boutique Bed and Breakfast also has a pool bar and lending library. They also have a boutique corner/gift shop that you should explore before checking out!
💡NOTE: If you want massage services, manicure/pedicure treatments, or some fitness activities (e.g., yoga, pilates, aqua fitness sessions), you need to request them at least one or two days prior.

1844 Suites is another Neoclassic building in Ermoupoli, Syros converted into relaxing, top-notch accommodation.
The rooms have elegantly combined neoclassical details and modern styles and amenities. Add to this the picturesque view of the sea (for most rooms) or the cityscape (for other rooms), and you will certainly enjoy your time even if you’re only in for a staycation.
Some of the features in their rooms are a private bathroom, a mini bar (free of charge), a satellite TV, a coffee maker, and a safe deposit box. The hotel also has a dry cleaning service and a daily room cleaning service. You won’t have to be stuck with filth if you’ve had too much fun touring around Syros.
1844 Suites can guarantee a comfortable stay for you and your entire family. It’s even pet-friendly so there’s no reason to leave your animal friends behind for your next holiday.
This hotel also has a terrific location. It’s near the center of Ermoupoli so access is not a problem, but still has enough distance from it to ensure quiet nights. It’s only 550 meters from the nearest beach as well.
Other attractions that you can easily access from 1844 Suites are Saint Nicholas Church, the Industrial Museum of Ermoupoli, Miaouli Square, and Neorion Shipyards. The Syros Island National Airport is only 2 km away.

5. Apollonion Palace

Apollonion Palace was built in the 19th century with majestic neoclassic architecture and foundations that touch the sea. In 2009, it was completely renovated from ruins, although around tight restrictions to keep the building exactly as it was in the 19th century!
This five-story building overlooks the Bay of Ag. Nicholas, giving a lot of rooms a panoramic view of the sea. For others away from the water, the view still won’t disappoint with the pretty picture of the city streets.
The rooms and suites are classically decorated and equipped with modern amenities. They have private bathrooms and some even have spa baths.
You also have a choice of where you want to enjoy your meals. There’s a large terrace on the east side of the building and a smaller one that comes with access to the sea.
It’s easy to spot the main entrance of Apollonion Palace as you reach the famed Apollonos Street. From the hotel, you can then simply walk to reach the Church of St. Nicholas, the Apollo Theatre, and the Hermoupolis Town-Hall. The Miaouli Square and Ermoupolis Port are also nearby.
Per the Apollonion hotel, “I think that our strongest part (as our guests say so) is our family warmth and hospitality, the amazing views and the private access to the sea for swimming to the Vaporia area, which is the best and the most expensive area of Hermoupolis.”

Syrou Melathron is a 19th-century mansion turned into a classic hotel in Ermoupoli, Syros.
This historic building is only 50m from Asteria Beach. The rooms and common areas allow you to see the charming scenery of the Vaporia District and the calming view of the waters.
Syrou Melathron offers the perfect mix of classic elegant decorations and modern amenities to cater to the needs of contemporary travelers. You can also choose a room with a more minimalistic touch if you don’t particularly fancy the classic, elaborate styles.
The hotel expanded into two buildings which now house 18 guestrooms and suites. All these rooms come with ornate high ceilings, marble bathrooms, minibars, air conditioning, and other high-quality amenities and furnishings.
10 of these rooms face the sea while others face the grand St. Nicholas dome. Syrou Melathron also boasts a roof garden where you’ll have a better vantage point over the Aegean Sea and Vaporia.

Syros Soul Luxury Suites is a top-rated accommodation right in the heart of Ermoupolis, Syros.
The property is composed of two buildings built in 1851. The neoclassical heritage of both buildings is still evident in their structures. Their naturally luminous rooms, however, are equipped with contemporary furnishings. You’ll have a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom along with other amenities.
This is also one of the hotels in Syros where you’re close to many nice spots. The Miaouli Square, Apollo Theatre, Cycladic Museum, and Ermoupolis Gallery are a few steps away from the hotel. Asteria Beach and St. Nicholas Church are also close by.

The property is built with the traditional Cycladic architectural style with bright and airy rooms. The suites come with private terraces or balconies with cool views of gardens and the village. The hotel is also overlooking Galissas Beach, a large family friendly beach in Syros, which is well-organized, shallow and offers lots of amenities.
If you’re traveling with kids, Dolphin Bay Family Beach Resort is one of the best hotels in Syros for you. They have a children’s pool and play area with fun water slides.

Whichever room you choose, you’ll be enjoying either a great sea or garden view. Also, while their suites are minimally decorated, they come with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. These include a private bathroom, a mini fridge, and free WiFi in all areas
They offer a breakfast buffet and have an à la carte restaurant that serves various lunch and dinner options. They also have a bar and a coffee house.
Boutique Di Mare Hotel & Suites is nestled in a nice location as well. Aside from offering a scenic view of the Aegean Sea, it’s also near a bus stop for convenient transportation around the island. There’s also a free parking space close by for those traveling with a car.
Authentic Greek style hotel and surrounding. The location is nice. The staff is very welcoming, helpful and nice.

Aristide Hotel is a 5-star hotel located in the heart of Ermoupoli. If you like walking, you’ll reach Asteria Beach and the city center of Syros from the hotel after about 8 minutes only.
The hotel is housed in a grand neoclassic mansion that boasts complete amenities and aesthetical decorations. They have a private art collection that adds charm to the interior and an actual gallery where you can find temporary exhibitions of works by their resident artists.
All their suites are complete with rain showers, marble bathrooms, dimmable lighting, Bluetooth speakers, and solid oak for doors and flooring. A lot of the suites also have sea views while some include stone hot tubs and private terraces.
You can also expect great food from Aristide Hotel. They use local, seasonal, and organic ingredients for their buffet breakfast and brunch. The hotel’s cocktail bar also offers both classic and signature drinks.
Attractions near Aristide Hotel include Miaouli Square, the Industrial Museum of Ermoupoli, and Neorion Shipyards.

Anassa Cycladic Village is located 500 meters away from Galissas Beach. The property has a lush garden, a free private parking space on site, a common terrace, and a restaurant offering mostly Greek and Mediterranean dishes.
You will have your choice of accommodations: bungalows, vintage style timber huts or bell tents!
Their daily breakfast comes in different options: buffet, a la carte, vegetarian, vegan, and continental. The outdoor swimming pool is also open for all ages.
If you’re traveling with kids, they’ll be entertained by Anassa Cycladic Village’s children’s playground equipped with outdoor playing equipment. They also provide board games and puzzles that your entire family can enjoy.
The village also offers a lot of outdoor activities for an additional reasonable fee. Snorkeling, horse riding, cycling, hiking, diving, canoeing, and windsurfing are included.
💡NOTE: Anassa Cycladic Village is a non-smoking area. However, there are designated smoking rooms.

My favorite pick for luxury and spa experiences is Castro Hotel. The hotel is in a great location for easy walking to everything in Ermoupolis. The rooms are renovated and beautiful. Plus, the spa is unique with a cozy stone-walled cave room fit with a shower, Haman, Massage table, and jacuzzi.
Which hotels in Syros are good for families?
A great pick for a family-friendly hotel in Syros is Dolphin Bay Resort. This Syros hotel has rooms to accommodate larger families, with bunk beds, room for cribs and extra space. Plus they have a pool with a water slide that keeps kids entertained for hours, as well as free ice cream for children.
The best part of Dolphin Bay Hotel is that it is located at Galissas Beach, which is the best family-friendly beach in Syros. The water is calm and shallow and it’s a nice stretch of sandy coastline.
